Tunnel construction

Krakbau Spółka Akcyjna specialises in the boring of transport (road and rail) tunnels using mining methods (shooting and mechanical techniques). Construction projects carried out by Krakbau S.A. are based on the NATM (New Austrian Tunnelling Method), which involves combining the anchoring of rock mass with shotcrete made with dry and wet methods. In the case of complex geological conditions (strong water saturation), we bored tunnels using the caisson method. Krakbau S.A. also specialises in refurbishment and retrofit of rail tunnels.

Client: UNIVERSALE-BAU GESELLSCHAFT GMBH. Rail tunnel with a length of approx. 400 m. 1 tunnel tube with a cross-section of approx. 140 m² at breakout. Total volume of rock run: approx. 56,000 m³. Due to large water inflows, we used the caisson method at a section of approx. 120 m.
